About The Gateway Nursery

Gateway is a long-established nursery provision situated in the village of Bartestree, approximately 3 miles to the east of Hereford.Trading as a charity, the nursery is located in a purpose-built, single level premises on a relatively large site of circa 2 acres, to the east of the village on the Ledbury Road (A438).

The nursery was opened in 1989, initially in the former primary school in the village of Lugwardine, prior to moving to its current location in 2002. 

Gateway has now been established for over 30 years, providing high quality, sessional childcare to children between the ages of 6 months to 4 years. We also offer after-school collection and care to children from 4-11 yrs, picking up from several local schools.

We have a highly qualified, friendly, mature staff and pride ourselves on both our well-resourced indoor space as well as our excellent outdoor facilities. We are currently developing our Forest Schools provision for all ages and we plant, grow and eat lots of our own produce from our polytunnel and gardens.

Gateway is a fully inclusive nursery that welcomes everyone and can provide care and learning for all children within the local community and beyond. We try to cater for all needs where we are able within our scope of practice.
